Team Member – Operations/Installation

Richmond Glass

Richmond Glass is getting bigger and busier.  We need another amazing person to join our team.

The right person will be helping the glazing team.  You don’t have to be a glazier.  We can help you become one.

The right person will be helping the Homeplus team.  As a franchise of Homeplus you will be helping our team install work locally.  It is okay if you haven’t installed before.  We will teach you.

The right person will be helping the Smith & Smith authorized dealer team with automotive windscreen repairs and installations.  It’s okay if you haven’t worked with windscreen repairs before.  We will teach you.

The right person will be helping in the factory assembling units and cutting products ready for installation.  If you have never worked with timber or aluminium it is okay, but we prefer you to know which end of the broom you sweep with.

So basically, every day will be different.  We can teach you a lot of things, but the right attitude is something you need to bring with you.

In return we will reward you, give you at least 40 hours per week Monday to Friday, be part of a growing culture, train you and give you a career in a rapidly growing industry.

Apprentice Industrial Automation Electrician

Apprentice Industrial Automation Electrician – Nelmac

Looking for a change or to kick start your career?

If you like building robotics and tinkering out in your back shed with technical Automation and /or Mechanical projects, then we have the perfect job for you!

Join a team in a work environment with plenty of variety and the opportunity to train, and develop your career in the sought-after, highly specialised area of electrical industrial automation.

This role will participate in all aspects of electrical installation and maintenance work, to contribute to overall delivery across the team, which is part of Nelmac’s Water Division.

You will need a genuine interest and aptitude to work with Computers, PLCs, RTU’s, Telemetry systems and control devices. Relevant experience would be beneficial but not essential as ideally, we are looking for someone with good practical skill sets and an excellent can-do attitude.

Full training will be provided for all areas where you do not currently have the experience and you will work towards an industry approved Electrical Qualification.

You must have a good awareness and understanding of Health and Safety and be prepared to undertake training for working in confined spaces and hazardous areas.

Your great communication skills will ensure you operate well in a high performing team, always delivering outstanding service to our customers. You will also be able to operate autonomously, as and when required.

You will be provided with a laptop, phone, PPE, specific tools and all Health and Safety equipment required for the role. Once established, there is the requirement that you will participate in an on- call roster. This is a great opportunity to get trade qualified as a specialist Electrician.

All applicants must have a clean driver’s licence, NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa, and will be required to undergo pre-employment medical checks and drug screening.

IT Intern – Nelson Forests

Our IT Intern position is a paid opportunity to work in our Richmond office (Gladstone Road) and would suit:

  • Gap Year student – are you planning to study IT but want a gap year to earn some money?
  • Studying at NMIT – are you going to study IT at NMIT next year? This could be a part-time role around your study.

The Role – You will support the IT Manger by providing helpdesk and systems maintenance related tasks.  You will also be involved in IT projects across the business.

Machinery Operator

A local industrial bakery/dairy factory are currently looking to train somebody as a Machinery Operator.  Full training will be given and would suit a practical school leaver.

This position is based in an industrial environment, so would suit someone who is a quick learner, a helpful team player who may have an interest in mechanics. The job will entail some high speed packing, quality checks, cleaning, setting up and running equipment, working with chemicals, food safety standards, health and safety standards and standard operating procedures.

Candidates need to be reliable and physically capable as there is some lifting involved.

Having own transport would be an advantage.
